Carrier group Air France-KLM Cargo and Martinair Cargo have launched a new app for iPhones and iPads, making it easier to track air freight shipments.
The free downloadable app enables forwarders to review the status of shipments on Air France, KLM and Martinair air waybills. Once an air waybill number has been entered into the app, it will automatically save it for continuous monitoring.
Marc Baan, VP for Marketing & E-business, said the app could easily accommodate service extensions like online flight schedules, local contacts and even real-time temperature information. He added: “The importance of online tracking was reaffirmed in a recent global customer satisfaction survey that we conducted. “Although we already score well on our online services, we believe making tracking available on smartphones and tablets will be a very welcome addition for our customers.”
